How to Use Septozyme BFB Measure the correct dosage Common guideline: 100 g of Septozyme BFB for every 500–1,000 liters of biodigester or septic tank capacity, depending on the application instructions being followed. Activate the bacteria Mix the Septozyme BFB powder in about 20 liters of warm water (around 30–37°C). Stir for a few minutes to activate the bacteria and enzymes. Allow soaking (recommended) For maximum activation, some instructions recommend allowing the mixture to soak for 8–12 hours before application. Apply to the system Pour the activated solution into: The first chamber of the septic tank or biodigester, or The last drainage manhole before the tank. Apply where normal wastewater flow will distribute it throughout the system. For heavily sludged systems If sludge and scum have built up over a long period, start with double the normal dosage for 3–4 weeks, then return to the regular maintenance dose after improvement is seen. Tips for Better Results Minimize excessive use of bleach, strong disinfectants, acids, and solvents because they can reduce the beneficial bacteria population. Use gloves when handling the powder and avoid inhaling dust. Store in a cool, dry place.
